New evangelist

Kevin L. Berry has been named the new evangelist for Summit City Church of Christ, 5420 S. Anthony Blvd.

Berry, an Air Force veteran, graduated from Southwest School of Bible Studies. Services for the non-denominational, non-intradenominational church can be found at www.summitcitychurchofchrist.org.

Peace convention

The 2011 International Ecumenical Peace Convention, a preparatory conference for the World Council of Churches, will be hosted by the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, from Wednesday through July 31. To register, go to www.peace2010.net.

Powers Church

Wayne Prosser, pastor of Living Water Worship Center, will give devotions at 7 p.m. Sunday at Powers Church, east of Angola on Old Road 1. Top of Ohio Dulcimer Friends will provide music.

Special music

The New Horizons Band will present a free concert at 6 p.m. today at the Fort Wayne Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5310 Old Mill Road.

An old-fashioned hymn sing will be presented at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at United Faith Presbyterian Church, 1616 W. Main St.

Vacation Bible Schools

Christ Community Church, 10616 Liberty Mills Road, will have “Egypt – Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace,” a free vacation Bible school, from 6:15 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 7308 St. Joe Road, will sponsor a free vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. To register, call 485-8022.
