New Haven police: Reckless driving argument spurred shooting

The two men involved in a shooting Saturday afternoon were arguing about reckless driving in their neighborhood, New Haven police said.

They said that Jeremy S. Bradtmiller, 39, shot David A. Robinson, 52, in the shoulder during the argument.

The shooting was reported just before 5:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of Woodmere Drive, in the city's Meadowbrook addition off Moeller Road.

Police said Bradtmiller fired two shots at Robinson, striking Robinson in the right shoulder area. Robinson was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. An updated condition for Robinson was not available Sunday morning.

Officers later arrested Bradtmiller at his home in the 1400 block of Baywood Drive. He faces preliminary felony charges of aggravated battery and criminal recklessness, police said.

Bradtmiller was being held Sunday at the Allen County Lockup in lieu of $15,000 bail.
