The contest is a fundraiser being conducted by Fort Wayne Newspapers NIE. NIE stands for Newspaper In Education. Last year, NIE provided more than 1 million newspapers to students across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. For more about NIE and what this fundraiser is for, please click here.
There is a $10 entry donation fee. You may enter your pet online with a digital photo and credit card.
You may also mail a 4-by-6-inch picture of your pet along with an entry form and check or money order. Click here for a printable entry form and mailing instructions. Copyrighted photos will not be accepted without the proper copyright release from the photographer.
The Top 12 in the 2010 NIE Pet Star contest will receive prizes and cash worth more than $10,000, including being featured on the cover of the January 2011 Fort Wayne Monthly magazine, and in the 2011 Pet Star calendar. Full prize information here.
