4 join race to succeed 84th District’s Borror

– No surprise candidates filed for the House District 84 caucus as the deadline passed Wednesday morning.

That means four Fort Wayne men will vie to fill the immediate vacancy and the general election ballot opening left by Randy Borror, who resigned recently to join a lobbying firm.

House District 84 includes much of St. Joseph Township and a handful of precincts in Washington and Adams townships.

The candidates for Saturday’s dual caucus are Allen County Commissioner Bill Brown, former Fort Wayne Community Schools board member Jon Olinger, 3rd District congressional aide Derek Pillie and local entrepreneur Bob Morris.

The caucus will begin at 10 a.m. at the Allen County GOP Headquarters, 135 W. Main St.
