3rd guilty plea filed in poker bust

After Michael Pocock pleaded guilty Wednesday in Allen Superior Court, only two men are left in the case involving an illegal poker den at a Three Rivers Apartments unit.

Pocock, 32, of the 3400 block of Olin Avenue, pleaded guilty to professional gambling. Under the terms of a plea agreement, if Pocock continues to cooperate with prosecutors, he will be sentenced to 1 1/2 years on probation in August.

He was one of five men arrested in June in connection with a poker ring operating out of an apartment at the downtown complex. Also arrested were Daniel G. Koch, 54; Michael Hofmann, 48, who leased the apartment; James Ray, 31, of Churubusco; and Brent A. Starr, 30, of Portland.

Starr and Koch have pleaded guilty, and Starr was sentenced to 1 1/2 years on probation.
