Running back chooses Notre Dame

Notre Dame's recruiting class is at a baker's dozen.

Justice Hayes, a running back from Grand Blanc (Mich.) High School, announced his oral commitment to the Irish at a news conference in is high school gym, according to multiple reports.

The 5-foot-10, 187-pounders is the nation's No. 75 overall prospect according to, and ESPN ranks him as the 22nd running back in his class.

Hayes told the Flint (Mich.) Journal that a sit down with Notre Dame offensive coordinator Charley Molnar near the end of his second visit to the university sealed his decision to join the Irish.

"That sort of put me over the top," Hayes told the paper. "But I was still 50 percent before I got to that point. But he definitely boiled it up when I got in there."

Hayes and the Irish's other 12 oral commitments, which includes Bishop Dwenger product Tony Springmann, cannot sign with Notre Dame until Feb. 2.
