2 critically wounded in shooting; suspects at large

Fort Wayne police are investigating shootings Friday afternoon that left two people critically wounded on the city’s southeast side.

Officers were called to the corner of East Sherwood Terrace and South Park Drive just after 3:30 p.m. to find the victims.

Police said they believe the men had been driving north on South Park in a green Taurus, followed by a white Oldsmobile. Both cars turned west on Sherwood Terrace, with the Oldsmobile pulling up beside the first car.

Police said they believe the occupants of both cars knew each other and pulled up to have a conversation. At least one person in the white car began shooting at the Taurus. Police said they do not know why.

Both men inside were hit, and the driver got out and ran to a house nearby, police said.
