A state trooper was on a Steuben County rural road about 1:30 p.m. Thursday when a dispatch went out about a Camry stolen from the Turkey Lake area.

Within moments, Trooper Matt Lazoff saw it going east on County Road 500 South at Indiana 327. Turning around, he reports that it speeded up and took off.

He finally caught up with it on County Road 700 South, where it was turning on to County Road 725 West. He chased it to Indiana 4, following it as it turned on County Road 15 in DeKalb County and then into a private driveway.

The 1993 Toyota Camry finally stopped in a cornfield and the three men inside fled, according to a written statement from the state police.

An officer from the Ashley Police Department caught one of the suspects immediately, and another was caught using officers and canine units at County Roads 2 and 9A about 3 p.m.

State police said the identity of the third suspect is known and that a case against him will be forwarded to the Steuben County Prosecutor's Office.

Two men were arrested and taken to the Steuben County Jail -- Brian Edward Domer, 36, of Hudson, and Cody David Mullins, 19, of LaGrange. Each was charged with felony possession of stolen property and resisting law enforcement.
