Irish keep gathering commitments

Notre Dame continues to add talent for next season as the Irish get ready to start practice next weekend for this season.

In less than 24 hours, Notre Dame picked up four oral commitments pushing the Irish's recruiting class for 2011, which includes Bishop Dwenger's Tony Springmann, to 16.

On Saturday, defensive end Aaron Lynch and cornerback Jalen Brown orally committed to Notre Dame according to reports.

The two defensive commitments came on the heels of Friday's announcements that running back Justice Hayes and defensive end Anthony Rabasa plan to sign with Notre Dame. High school players cannot officially sign with colleges until Feb. 2.

Lynch, a 6-foot-6, 245-pounder from Island Coast High School in Cape Coral, Fla., is a four-star recruit, according to

"What led me to make this choice is I know that it's not just a four-year decision, it's a 40-year decision," Lynch told "I know if I come here and get my degree I can go anywhere in the country and get a job if football doesn't take me that way."

Hayes of Grand Blanc (Mich.) High School is a four-star running back, and Rabasa of Columbus High School in Miami is a three-star defensive end, according to Brown is from Irving (Texas) Macarthur High School.
