Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor and Michigan State linebacker Greg Jones were named the preseason Big Ten offensive and defensive players of the year.
The Buckeyes were tabbed as the favorites in the preseason poll, followed by Iowa and Wisconsin. The Big Ten only releases the top three teams.
Pryor and Jones are repeat picks. It's the first time since 1998 that both selections are repeats. Ohio State's Andy Katzenmoyer (defense) and Wisconsin's Ron Dayne (offense) were rewarded in consecutive years.
Jones is the first back-to-back defensive pick since Ohio State's James Laurinaitis in 2007 and 2008. Pryor is the first offensive pick since Dayne in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
Pryor threw for three touchdowns and rushed for one more in a 33-14 victory at Indiana on Oct. 3.
Indiana does not play Michigan State this season. The Hoosiers are at Ohio State on Oct. 9. It is the first trip to Columbus since 2006.
