Verbatim: ‘Heal the Land, Heal the Heart’ is prayer service theme

Statement issued Wednesday:

Fort Wayne, IN, August 4, 2010-On Thursday August 12, 2010 the Peace and Justice Commission will hold their annual prayer service. This year’s theme is “Heal the Land, Heal the Heart.” The service will take place at 7 PM at Lakeside Park in the Pavilion located off Vermont Ave.

The theme was chosen with the purpose of showing the community how we need to change and to heal. Chairperson, J. Patric Driscoll states, “We need to change how we view and treat each other. We need to begin to not only heal our community but our hearts as well.” Speakers for the service will be Rev. Richard Hartman of Epiphany Lutheran Church and Rev. Ron Allen of Heartland Community Church.

The Peace and Justice Commission is a part of Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County.
