Ohio State's Jim Tressel spoke out about not wanting the Big Ten to play nine conference games at the league media days in Chicago this week.
But Purdue coach Danny Hope said he likes the idea.
"If I had my druthers, that's the direction I would go in," he said Tuesday. "I won't get a vote. But I think that it would strengthen the schedules of everyone in the league, bring more credibility to our league."
A nine-game league schedule would mean some teams play five road games.
"I don't want to, but … if the next year, somebody else has to do it, all is fair," Hope said.
