Pottery Barn Kids is voluntarily recalling about 405 Madeline bunk beds for repairs, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
The end structure of the bed can entrap a young child, the commission said. Children can get their necks caught in the opening between the post and the decorative molding.
The beds, made in Vietnam, were sold from July 2009 to March 2010. The bed is white and is made of wood and medium-density fiberboard. It has guardrails on either side of the top bunk and a ladder that attaches to the side of the bed.
Consumers should stop using the bed and contact Pottery Barn Kids and schedule installation of a free repair kit.
Pottery Barn Kids can be reached at 1-888-779-8692 between 10 a.m. and 3 a.m. Fort Wayne time or at www.potterybarnkids.com.
