The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the voluntary recall of solar-lighted cantilever umbrellas sold exclusively at Bed Bath & Beyond.
The hazard is a plastic connector that attaches to the arm of the umbrella. The connector can break and cause the umbrella to collapse.
Bed Bath & Beyond has received 21 complaints of umbrellas collapsing. The recall involves about 7,600 umbrellas that were made in China.
The 13-foot umbrella has tan or chocolate material, lights and black supporting poles. The UPC numbers are 444444550439 (tan) and 444444583963 (chocolate) and can be found on product packaging. The model numbers are 8070C-S and 8070C-L and can be found on the assembly.
Consumers should immediately stop using the umbrella and return it to any Bed Bath & Beyond store for a full refund.
The company can be reached 24 hours a day at 1-800-462-3966 or at www.bedbathandbeyond.com.
