Verbatim: Daniels to attend Illinois Road ceremony

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne District will celebrate the opening of SR 14/Illinois Road with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11. The event will be held just east of the Scott Road/SR 14 intersection.

WHO: Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator David Long, President Pro Tempore of the Indiana State Senate, Senator Tom Wyss, INDOT Deputy Commissioner Bob Alderman, and local officials

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 11

WHERE: Along SR 14, 100 yards east of the Scott Road/SR 14 intersection, on the south side of SR 14

WHAT: Governor Mitch Daniels’ Major Moves project improves SR 14 with added travel lanes, a five-lane road with a bi-directional center turn lane, new storm sewer, curb and gutter, multi-purpose trails, as well as improved signs, lighting and markings. Phase I project limits are from Hadley Road to Scott Road. The project was constructed by Brooks Construction.

PARKING: Attendees may park at the Sonrise Church, 10125 Illinois Road.
