Gardener’s notebook: Twilight Walk & Plant Sale is Aug. 14

Statement from the Allen County Cooperative Extension Office:

A Twilight Walk and Plant Sale will be held Saturday, August 14 from 5-7 p.m. at the Display Gardens of the Allen County Cooperative Extension Office, 4001 Crescent Ave., Fort Wayne (on the east side of the IPFW campus). Free parking for the walk and sale is available at the parking garage across from the Extension office.

Master Gardener volunteers will be stationed at each of our 17 theme garden areas to answer questions about their garden areas that they plan and maintain throughout the season. Music, art and area vendors are also a traditional part of the walks. In addition, a number of plants will be offered for sale at bargain prices, from perennials to vegetables and woody ornamentals. All plants come from the gardens of individual Master Gardeners or from the Display Gardens at the Extension Office.

The Allen County Horticulture Extension offers research-based information and services based on needs within the community. Services include Display Gardens, Gardening Hotline, diagnosis of disease and insects of ornamental and vegetable plants, the Master Gardener volunteer program, and information and publications regarding horticulture, plants, and the environment.
