South Bend chocolates recalled

The following recall has been announced:

  • 174 1-pound bags of Bountiful Blend, a blend of chocolate covered mixed nuts and dried fruits, sold by the South Bend Chocolate Co. of South Bend, Ind., because they contain undeclared cashews, almonds, pecans and Brazil nuts.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cashews, pecans, almonds or Brazil nuts run the risk of allergic reactions if they consume this product.

Bountiful Blend was sold online and by mail order and may have been sold nationwide through distributors to retail stores. No illnesses have been reported.

Consumers with questions can call The South Bend Chocolate Co. at 574-233-2577 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
