Verbatim: Spectrum Finishing to expand, add jobs

Statement issued Tuesday:

Spectrum Finishing, LLC and the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation are excited to announce the expansion of Spectrum Finishing at its facilities located in LaGrange, IN.

The tax abatement was requested by M&E Investments, LLC representing Spectrum Finishing, LLC and the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation, and was approved unanimously by the Town of LaGrange. The abatement is for a period of ten years and is for a 6500 sq ft. building addition, valued at $192,400. In addition to the real estate improvements, the company has purchased new equipment that the expansion will house, which will allow Spectrum Finishing, LLC to increase production efficiency and create an additional ten jobs. In addition to the new jobs created, an additional 22 jobs will be retained, bringing their total employment to at least 32 employees.

“We are very excited to receive approval from the LaGrange Town Council for our abatement requests on the expansion of our operations. The market for high quality furniture has been growing and that has necessitated the need for our upcoming expansion” said Ernie Wingard, a partner in M&E Investments, LLC. “We are eager to get this project underway and strengthen our continued partnership with the community.” “Spectrum Finishing/M&E Investments have been a great business in the Town of LaGrange and LaGrange County, and we’re elated that they have continued to grow their company in the Town of LaGrange.” said Terry Helmer, President of the LaGrange Town Council.

“The growth of Spectrum Finishing, LLC is a demonstration of their company’s quality workmanship” said Keith Gillenwater, Executive Director of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation. “We look forward to continuing to work with Spectrum Finishing LLC and our many other high quality furniture manufacturers as this industry continues to blossom in LaGrange County.”
