The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a second recall of Goldstar and Comfort-Aire 30-pint portable dehumidifiers.
The dehumidifiers, previously recalled in December, have a power connector to the compressor that can short-circuit, posing and a fire and burn hazard.
About 98,000 dehumidifiers, made by LG Electronics Tianjin Appliance Co. of China, are involved in the recall.
LF has received four reports of fires involving the dehumidifiers, including one that resulted in significant damage to a home. No injuries were reported.
The Goldstar brand is sold at Home Depot and Walmart. Comfort-Aire is sold at Heat Controller Inc.
