Glass gives update on divisions

Indiana athletic director Fred Glass is "optimistic that pretty soon we'll have an alignment" in terms of Big Ten football divisions.

"We'll go to two divisions. The focus has been on competitive balance more so than geography or anything else," Glass said Tuesday. "A close second is preserving rivalries. We've made a lot more progress than I think any of us thought we would. We'll be very close to making an announcement on that soon."

Glass said the hope is to go to nine conference football games by 2015. He said the decision is "not for sure in stone, but the momentum and desire is to go there if we can get the non-conference schedules aligned ok."
