  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

And now, from tennis...

Not long after news that IPFW had intelligent golfers, word came down that the Mastodons' tennis players also did well academically.

For the seventh time in the last eight years, the IPFW women's tennis team received the ITA All-Academic Team award, which is significant because teams with a cumulative 3.20 grade point average only receive the honor.

Four of the women players own GPAs of 3.50 or better. They are Ingrid Ballus, Alex Forsyth, Rafaela Hadba and Yuka Kobayashi. Four men's tennis players also were recognized for outstanding GPAs. They are Luis Maselli, Luis Sanado, Junya Saruta and Eduardo Sztrajtman.
