Some cool back-to-school tips this hot summer for teens and kids:

•On the first day of school you might want to wear your sneakers and bring your gym outfit because you never know when you’ll have your gym day.

•New hairstyles are a necessity for school. Some people will highlight and dye their hair with average (blond, brown, black) and crazy colors.

•Flip-flops and fake glasses are fun for summer. The new trend is to wear polarized 3-D movie glasses.

Where to find school inexpensive items and if you’re on a budget:

•A Target representative said you can find lots of deals, such as 36 pencils for 30 cents a pack.

•A Walmart representative says the store’s most popular clothing is Faded Glory because it’s cheaper than other brands.

•A Salvation Army representative said you can find a lot of clothes for cheap prices and they also have a pretty good section of shoes.

•At Meijer, a representative said the store has good deals, such as composition notebooks for 50 cents.

•At CVS and Walgreens, a representative suggested buying cheap umbrellas to save for a rainy day.
