In the latest bit of golf silliness, "anchoring" putters is banned... and it also comes from the SEC, where if you say, "People here are crazy about football," you're apparently not speaking rhetorically.
This upon the news that Kevin Morris, the campaign manager for an Alabama mayor up for re-election, admitted doctoring a photo that apparently showed Mayor Dorothy Davidson grippin'-and-grinnin' with Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban.
Alas, the grip-and-grin never happened. Neither did the Saban "endorsement" of Her Honor that Morris included with the photo.
Caught red-handed (or, perhaps, Crimson-handed), Morris immediately resigned.
"I lied," he said, thereby becoming the first individual involved in a political campaign ever to speak an untruth. Or at least admit it.
