Counting down

The TinCaps lowered their magic number to four by beating Lansing 4-1 Monday. Any combination of Fort Wane wins and Lansing losses equaling or exceeding four for the rest of the year clinches a playoff spot for the TinCaps.

The number also takes into account Fort Wayne's tie-breaker edge over the Lugnuts. The TinCaps lead the season series 15-5.
