The Bishop Luers girls soccer team won the South Bend Invitational last Saturday, dethroning seven-time champion Carmel along the way.
The Knights went 3-0 in the tournament by beating No. 19 Lake Central 4-2, Andrean 4-1 and South Bend Adams 5-0.
Carmel, which had won two straight tournament titles, also went 3-0 but allowed two more goals than the Knights in the tiebreaker. The Greyhounds have won the tournament seven of the 11 years of its exsistence.
Bishop Luers allowed only three goals with sophomore goalkeeper Julia Hayes getting 16 saves.
