Freshman kicker injures knee

Freshman kicker Jonathan Linkenheimer injured his left knee during practice Thursday.

He is undergoing tests and evaluation, according to a release from the school Friday.

Linkenheimer posted on his facebook that he tore his anterior cruciate ligament, Journal & Courier beat writer Mike Carmin reported. That status update has since been removed, Carmin said.

Linkenheimer was the backup place kicker to Carson Wiggs.
