Web letter by Paul Hidy: Huntertown servant ready to do more as clerk-treasurer

I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank Robin Riley for her letter of endorsement. I really appreciate knowing I have the confidence of one of the most highly recognized clerk-treasurers in the state of Indiana.

Over the past 11 years I have faithfully served Huntertown as a strong conservative council member, demonstrating my ability to be an effective listener to the people. My compassion for Huntertown is undeniable as I treat each individual the way I would want to be treated. As a former Hidden Oaks Home Owners Association president, I have worked on many concerns our growing subdivisions face today, such as but not limited to street lighting, architectural control, garbage, weeds, noise, road improvements and drainage.

Several years ago while working with Sheriff Jim Herman, I developed the current police program Huntertown, Leo-Cedarville and Grabill use today. This unique police program was designed not only to enforce the laws but also to be a conduit of information among local businesses, town residents and members of the town council. Our current officer, Gary Grant, has served our community well. However, as his duties have grown, I have decided that effective immediately I will attend the organized Home Owner Association meetings within Huntertown on a quarterly basis or more if invited. It is my intention to keep homeowners up to date regarding activities within the town council and in return share your thoughts and concerns with the council members.

Being a strong conservative, I have a keen eye for the bottom line when it comes to finances. Over the last 30 years I have been responsible for numerous budgets in the industries I’ve served, as well as my own personal masonry restoration service, fireplace equipment retail and security-consulting firm. My knowledge and people skills, combined with my bachelor’s in business management, demonstrate I am well qualified to be your next town clerk-treasurer. I intend to dedicate full time, 100 percent of my services to the residents of Huntertown and I will continue to do my part to make Huntertown a great place to call home.
