Six true freshmen are on the depth chart for Purdue's opening game against Notre Dame on Saturday.
Cody Webster is listed as an "or" with Carson Wiggs for the starting punter spot.
Cornerback Ricardo Allen, defensive tackle Bruce Gaston, receiver O.J. Ross, linebacker Will Lucas and running back Reggie Pegram are also on the two-deep. I wouldn't be surprised if Allen or Gaston move into the starting lineup this season.
Coach Danny Hope said he thinks even more true freshmen could find their way into the depth chart as the season progresses.
There are other new faces on the two-deep, too, with junior college transfers Mike Eargle and Max Charlot in the secondary.
The only surprise on the two-deep was junior Chris Carlino joining Antwon Higgs as the backup -- of the "or" variety -- at middle linebacker. Carlino had been working at outside linebacker. With Carlino listed in the middle, DeVarro Greaves is now listed as Jason Werner's backup at strong-side.
