Verbatim: State police officer resigns; accused of misconduct, battery

Statement issued Wednesday:

Steuben County, Indiana – On September 1, 2010 the Steuben County Prosecutor, Thomas Wilson, filed one count of Official Misconduct, a Class “D” Felony and two counts of Battery, both Class “B” Misdemeanors, against Michael D. Mosier, 28.

Mosier, who resigned from the state police on August 31, 2010, was a two and a half year member of the Indiana State Police assigned to the Indiana Toll Road. The charges filed against Mosier were the result of a criminal investigation conducted by the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division.

At the direction of the Steuben County Prosecutor, Mosier will be summoned to appear in court at a future date to answer the filed charges. No other information is available from the Indiana State Police.
