Norwell boys tennis still perfect

The Norwell boys tennis team improved to 7-0 this season with its 5-0 victory over visiting Huntington North on Tuesday.

Reid Imel won his match at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2, over Phil Truitt. At No. 2 singles, Tanner Bowen defeated Ben North 6-2, 6-4.

The Knights’ doubles teams of Kyle Fillman and Ross Matthews, plus Kyle Isch and Tanner Matthews, lost only two games combined in their matches.

SOUTH SIDE 3, CONCORDIA 2: Visiting South Side’s Alex Graham won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-0, against Tom Conner. Concordia’s Andrew Koelper defeated Antonio Gooden 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1.

WARSAW 4, GOSHEN 1: The Tigers’ Will Anderson won 6-4, 6-3 against Stefan Baumgartner at No. 1 singles. Brenton Reyner downed Seth Koble 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2.

Golf

WAWASEE 177, GOSHEN 208: The Warriors remained undefeated at 10-0 with the victory at Maple Crest Country Club. Krista Zurcher had a match-best 42, while Sathita Cheeranont shot a 43.

Soccer

DEKALB 4, EAST NOBLE 0: Landon Cochran, Nick Sutton, Jake Millett and Alex Williams scored for the Barons. Williams and Sutton also assisted on goals, as coach Jed Freels got his 150th victory.

Volleyball

BELLMONT 3, HERITAGE 0: Alex Fuelling had 12 kills and seven digs for Bellmont, which won 25-12, 25-20, 25-11. Teammate Chelsea Colclasure had 14 digs.

CARROLL 3, GARRETT 0: Jenna Spadafora tallied eight kills, 22 assists and four aces for the Chargers, who won 25-13, 25-18, 25-21.
