Armed robber takes cash from Azar’s in Waynedale

Fort Wayne police investigated an armed robbery early Tuesday at a Waynedale restaurant.

Police were called just after midnight Monday to Azar’s Big Boy at 6800 Bluffton Road. Employees told police a man entered the restaurant armed with a black handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money before leaving through a back door.

The robber is described as about 6-foot-1, 215 to 220 pounds and white with brown eyes.He wore muddy boots, blue jeans and a red-and-green flannel shirt. He wore a red bandanna on his head and a black scarf over his face.

Officers used a police dog to track the robber but were unsuccessful.
