Public TV to air program on Indiana legal system

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Supreme Court is partnering with public broadcasters to teach viewers about the legal process.

The first show is called "Family Matters: Choosing to Represent Yourself in Court." It will begin airing Thursday on Indiana public television stations.

The Supreme Court says the show provides information for people who decide to represent themselves in court without an attorney.

In 2008, more than 400,000 cases included people who represented themselves in court.

The video was produced by the Supreme Court's Division of State Court Administration.

Indiana's public broadcasters include eight NPR and eight PBS member stations across the state.
