Woman shot to death in Fort Wayne is ID’d

A woman shot and killed near McCulloch Park this morning has been identified as Tiffany L. Mendez.

The Fort Wayne woman, 29, was found by railroad tracks near the intersection of Lindley and Parkview avenues just after 5 a.m. She died from one or multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Police were called to the scene by a resident who heard gunshots in the area. A man was caught near the scene and questioned. That man, 19-year-old Patrick Rashad Fluker of Fort Wayne, has been arrested on charges of murder and possession of stolen auto parts.

He was seen fleeing the area in a stolen car, according to police. Currently, he’s being held in the Allen County Lockup without bail.
