19-year-old charged with murder in woman’s death

FORT WAYNE – A 19-year-old Fort Wayne man has been charged with murder, accused of killing a woman south of McCulloch Park.

Fort Wayne police said Patrick Rashad Fluker is in custody, charged with murder and possession of stolen auto parts.

According to a written statement from Scott Tegtmeyer, police spokesman, police were called at 5:05 a.m. to the area of Lindley and Parkview avenues, near the railroad tracks.

The caller told police a car left the scene and stopped near the General Electric gate and that a man got out and ran west.

They found the woman during the search and medics confirmed she was dead, the written statement said.

According to a written statement issued later by Raquel Foster, police spokeswoman, Fluker was detained near the scene of the shooting.

A blue 2000 Cadillac Seville reported stolen out of New Haven was recovered during the investigation.

The identity of the woman and the cause and manner of her death will be released by the Allen County coroner, the statement said.
