CLEVELAND – A developer in the Cleveland area has been charged in a public corruption investigation with giving a $20,000 bribe to a suburban councilman.
The charge against 69-year-old David Terry of Hinckley was filed Friday as a criminal information, which usually signals a pending plea bargain.
Terry doesn't have a phone listing and could not be reached. No attorney for him was identified in court records.
The person who received the bribe in 2008 was identified only as a Strongsville city council member elected in 1989 and employed by the coroner's office.
Messages seeking comment were left for a council member who works for the coroner. The coroner's office says it's aware of the matter but that it's not connected to the coroner's work.
