Dr. Martin White and St. Joe Vision hired Dr. Myra Weber and Joy Panagiotou. Weber specializes in pediatric eye care, and Panagiotou is a certified optician.
Executive Technologies hired Amy Siffer as a general manager of the ExecuTrain division and Diana Karriker as an educational services coordinator. Siffer worked with Fortune 500 companies in Toledo, and Karriker was most recently with Kruse International Classic and Collector Car Auctions.

Todd Bixler was promoted to president and chief executive officer at K&K Insurance. Bixler joined the company in 1986 as controller, responsible for financial reporting and accounting operations.

Huntington University welcomed new staff members for the start of the new semester: Scott Berry joins the university as its controller/director of financial services. Meredith Baltz joins the university as the student activities board director. Kahle Bryant is the new resident director for Hardy Hall. Yikhwan Dillard is the new resident director for Meadows and Miller halls. Kelly Lynch joins the university as the new equipment cage and studio supervisor for the digital media arts program. Danielle Miller and Andrew Vaught were welcomed to campus as the two new admissions counselors. John ORourke is the new radio and television supervisor. Chad Ralston joins the staff as a maintenance technician/electrician. Lynne Razor is the new secretary for student development. Logan Skinner is the new coordinator of tutoring and commuter services. Hired during the previous school year were: Dennis Crum, head volleyball coach; Valerie Geer, associate director of the Institute for TESOL Studies; and Ashley Smith, assistant director for media relations.
The EXCEL Adult Degree Program also hired three new people this year: Tonya Horvath, admissions counselor; Cheryl Ihnen, curriculum assistant; and Terry Miller, online programs admissions counselor.

Dr. Joseph J. Klopfenstein received the Bovine Practitioner of the Year Award from the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. Klopfenstein is a Fort Wayne native who graduated from Northrop High School and now lives in Vergennes, Vt.
Zach Kessie was named president of the newly formed Fire Barriers LLC. The company was established to provide building code-mandated fire stopping systems for new construction and retrofitting of existing commercial buildings.
