1-mile walk to help sex assault victims

Fort Wayne’s “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” has become known for the giggle-generating spectacle of men teettering across a finish line in 4-inch red heels.

But when the third annual fundraiser gets under way at 10 a.m. Saturday in Headwaters Park, the event also will draw attention to a serious issue – sexual assault and rape.
