Injury update

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said safety Jamoris Slaughter will be out of a walking boot today and will start preparing for Saturday's home game against Michigan.

Slaughter sprained his ankle in the 23-12 win over Purdue.

"Some precursors to an evaluation would be very minimal swelling and a good range of motion today," Kelly said during his Tuesday news conference. "I'm not ready to say he's going to be 100 percent for Saturday, but some of the signs point toward somebody that is making really good progress."

As for linebackers Prince Shembo and Darius Fleming, who suffered from cramps during the game against Purdue, Kelly said both are doing fine.
