Sophomore forward Ashley Wilson had a second surgery to repair a stress fracture in her lower right leg, women's basketball coach Sharon Versyp announced Tuesday.
Wilson, who played in all 32 games last season and had six starts, initially had surgery on March 23, 2010. She is expected to return in time for Big Ten play, a release said.
"Ashley has worked very hard this summer with her rehab, so certainly she's disappointed," Versyp said in a statement. "However, she's a tough young lady with a tremendous work ethic who will make the best of the situation. We're all supporting her 100 percent and we know that she's getting the best care possible."
Wilson averaged 4.9 points and 4.1 rebounds last season.
