A man claiming to have a gun robbed a south-side drugstore of prescription painkillers, according to a Fort Wayne police report. The man approached the pharmacy counter in Walgreens at 222 E. Pettit Ave.Firefighters were on the scene of a fire Wednesday afternoon on Fort Wayne's east side, near New Haven.
The fire is at 5402 Moeller Road, officials said, and black smoke was spewing into the sky, visible in downtown Fort Wayne and Foster Park.
