Members of the Fort Wayne police Hazardous Devices Unit were called to an east-side neighborhood Saturday on a report of a bomb, according to a police report.
Officers responded just before 2 p.m. to the entrance to the Georgetown Place subdivision after a passer-by found a milk jug that appeared to be a homemade bomb.
The jug was behind a sign at the subdivision and appeared to be expanding.
It was inspected and determined to be safe, the report said.
