Instant Recall

Fisherman's wading staffs recalled

Simms Fishing Products of Bozeman, Mont., is voluntarily recalling about 3,000 wading staffs because they can collapse and cause a fall, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The staffs come in two sizes, 52 and 56 inches. They are used to assist in wading rivers or streams.

The item numbers, AWS101152 or AWS101156, can be found on the product hang tag attached to the staff at the time of purchase.

No injuries have been reported from using the staffs, the safety commission said.

The staffs were sold by authorized dealers nationwide from March through June for about $120.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Simms Fishing Products or an authorized dealer to receive a free replacement staff or a full refund.

Simms can be reached at 877-789-6555 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Fort Wayne time, at its website or by e-mail at
