A Paulding County, Ohio, man found dead last weekend is believed to have been hit by a train, officials said.

Sheriff’s deputies found Edward Mordaunt Jr., 43, of Paulding, on Saturday. He was found just before 1 p.m. on the Norfolk Southern tracks between County Roads 59 and 51, on the county’s west side, deputies said.

A confirmed cause and manner of death for Mordaunt have not been released. Paulding County Coroner Dr. Joseph Kuhn said Wednesday he did not expect to release that information for several weeks.
