Football twins pick Notre Dame

Notre Dame added twins to its 2011 football recruiting class Sunday.

George and Josh Atkinson of Granada High School in Livermore, Calif., orally committed to play for the Irish, according to

The brothers are in South Bend this weekend for their official visits and watched Saturday’s 28-24 loss to Michigan.

George, a U.S. Army All-American, is a 6-foot-2, 194-pound athlete and could play either running back or receiver for Notre Dame.

Josh is a 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback.
