Lynch on the Big Ten teleconference

Indiana coach Bill Lynch discussed dealing with the 16-day layoff between games during Tuesday's Big Ten teleconference.

The Hoosiers opened the season on Sept. 2. They return to action Saturday against Western Kentucky.

"It's really unusual, and even more so because we opened on a Thursday night," Lynch said. "We tried to turn it into a positive. We didn't go back into training camp mode, but we went back into working on the things we need to get better. We went good-on-good.

"There are still some positions where there is some competition and we wanted the guys to compete. We didn't want anyone to get comfortable after one game."
