I'm loving this

And Stan Parrish on 'We've got Game'

I'm still loving the fact that the Flint area, which couldn't support one hockey team last season, is now going to have two -- one in the North American Hockey League (juniors) and one in the All-American Hockey League (Single A).

Have you seen who will be coaching the AAHL team, the Loggers? Lorne Knauft.

According to that story by Brendan Savage of The Flint Journal, we could see some familiar names playing for that team. I don't think this is the case, but was he suggesting a possible Brent Gretzky sighting? Again, I doubt it.

And was Knauft the hardest hitter in the United Hockey League? I'd have to chew on that one for awhile, but maybe.

Also, amazed (add sarcasm) that the AAHL team in Muskegon is already gone, moved on to the Chicago area.

  • Today's episode of "We've got Game," hosted by Justin Cohn and Ben Smith, will go live from 5 to 6 p.m. But you can listen to the replay anytime after that, too, using the radio button on the top right of this post. On the sports/pop culture show, the guys are going to get into everything from "Machete" to the VMAs. They will talk about the travesty that befell the Detroit Lions, the butt kicking suffered by the Indianapolis Colts, and they will have special guest Stan Parrish, head coach of the Ball State football team. Give the show a listen.
