Kramer expects to play in Fort Wayne

Former Purdue guard Chris Kramer expects to sign an NBA contract with Milwaukee soon and eventually will land in Fort Wayne playing for the Bucks' Developmental League team.

Kramer said Monday that he is headed to Milwaukee on Wednesday to get some workouts in before training camp starts on Sept. 28. Because the Bucks have a full 15-man roster, though, he anticipates being assigned to the D-League team in Fort Wayne.

The Mad Ants start training camp on Nov. 8 and open the season on Nov. 21.

Kramer is from Huntington, about 25 miles southwest of Fort Wayne.

"For everyone who has been there and supported you from Day 1 to be able to come and watch you play is a big plus going into the situation," he said.

Mad Ants president Jeff Potter declined comment.

But it's likely that Kramer will skip the D League draft on Nov. 1 and sign a D-League contract to play in Fort Wayne.
