Notre Dame's basketball recruiting train is gaining steam.
The Irish added a second oral commitment for the Class of 2012 on Wednesday when Cameron Biedscheid, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound wing, declared his intentions to play for Notre Dame, according to multiple reports.
Biedscheid averaged 18.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals as a sophomore at St. Louis' Cardinal Ritter.
He will join 6-8 forward Austin Burgett of Avon in the Irish's 2012 class. Burgett orally committed on Sept. 11.
Biedscheid's oral commitment comes on the heals of 6-5 senior swingman Patrick Connaughton choosing the Irish on Saturday.
Biedscheid is ranked 73rd in Rivals.com's top 150, and he says he will be ready to make an immediate impact.
"They're really trying to get me just to be their guy for them," Biedscheid told IrishIllustrated.com. "I wouldn't want to go to college and be just a role guy. Being the guy that I am I've always wanted to be a standout. (Coach Mike Brey) is saying he noticed that in the way I play and he's bringing me in to be one of the impact guards in the Big East as a freshman. He said my freshman year I'm coming in trying to make me Big East Freshman of the Year."
