Kansas-based The Gerson Co. is recalling 4-inch square, 20-inch tall glass vases that were sold between July 2006 and March 2010 for $14.99 at Michaels stores in the U.S. and Canada.
The recall is because of cuts that have occurred to consumers's hands while they were holding the vase in the middle of its height, according to the company's website.
Anyone who purchased a vase is advised to take the following steps
- Proof of purchase: Validate you own one of the recalled vases with either a copy of the sales receipt or a picture of the vase
- Send an e-mail copy of the proof firstname.lastname@example.org; or fax to 1-800-301-4548; or mail to Gerson Co., PO Box 1209, Olathe, KS 66051-1209. Please include your name and a return mailing address with the proof of purchase.
- Destroy the vase and dispose of it; all in a safe manner.
This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.
We're reporting this to our crafting followers because we know how often vases can be used in crafting.
