Irish safeties look ready

Notre Dame has all of its safeties going through pregame warmups.

The Irish played the last two games with only Harrison Smith and Zeke Motta, but Jamoris Slaughter and Dan McCarthy, who had ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively, are running around with 30 minutes to go before kickoff against No. 16 Stanford.

Slaughter does appear to limp every once in a while during warmups, but he is moving around pretty well during drills. The limp comes out more when walking back to his position.

McCarthy is working with the second-team defense along with Motta, and Slaughter is in his starting spot with the first team.

Backup center Dan Wenger, who hasn't played this season after suffering two concussions in fall camp, is on the sideline in street clothes.
